Dear Participants of SIOMMS,
Dear Members of IFToMM Community,
Throughout the year the IFToMM PC for Education and the Organizing Committee of 5-th SIOMMS has been closely monitoring the rapidly evolving COVID pandemic. For health and safety reasons, as well as for national sanitary standards, it is not possible to hold SIOMMS in Izhevsk in May 2021.
IFToMM PC for Education and the 5th SIOMMS Organizing Committee are working diligently with IFToMM EC to determine a course of action that will meet the expectations of the participants and will not negatively affect the nature and spirit of the Olympiad.
At the moment we have no final decision of IFToMM EC to either move the SIOMMS to web-hosted event, or to reschedule it, so we ask you to continue to check this page for the updates.
We are aware of the inconvenience this turn of events may cause and appreciate your understanding. We are sincerely grateful to students and teachers for the time and efforts in the course of the preparation to the Olympiad.

pleased to invite university teams to participate in The 5-th Students International Olympiad on Mechanism and
Machine Science (SIOMMS) that will be held on 19-21 May 2021.
The fifth global Olympiad will be arranged following the decision of the Executive Council of International
Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM).
The event will be presided by Prof. Dr. Sc. Valeriy Grakhov, Rector of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical
University.
SIOMMS 20/21 will take place within the International Forum on Mechanism and Machine Science in memory of Prof. Veniamin Goldfarb.
The Forum is also supported by IFToMM, and it will include the 10th international scientific practical conference
“Theory and practice of gears and gearbox engineering 20/21”. Please, visit the website
